Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within Impression

I'm a fan of anime films so I try to watch them when time permits. Another type of film I try to watch is computer graphic films. These films consist of productions from Pixar or Disney who developed films, such as Cars and Toy Story, that were instant box office hit during summer time. Final Fantasy: the Spirit Within, however, is not one of those.

This film was not as successful when it was released due to many doubts that it can not develop and fulfill the characteristics of any American films. I disagree with this mental set in different levels. Even though this was not a typical Hollywood film, as in real life casts, it still offered the essential characters that developed the plot and shocking suspense. Here's a little background: The year is 2065 AD. The Earth is infested with alien spirits, and mankind faces total extinction. Led by a strange dream and guided by her mentor, Dr. Sid, scientist Aki Ross struggles to collect the eight spirits in the hope of creating a force powerful enough to destroy the alien presence and pure enough to protect the planet. With the aid of the Deep Eyes Squadron, Aki must save the Earth from its darkest hate and unleash the spirits within.

This film was released in 2001, where CGI films were not so dominant as it is now. You do not have to know or play the Final Fantasy Franchise to understand this film, because it did an excellent job explaining to the audience the necessary materials to enjoy it. This film was the groundbreaking CGI film from the creators of the Final Fantasy Video Game Franchise that were well known from almost all gamers. If you get the chance, watch this film. It will expand your perspective and maybe increase your knowledge beyond the typical Hollywood films.
