Hotel Rwanda Impression

As you read this impression, do you ever think back and calculate how much we take our lifestyle for granted, like the freedom to voice our opinion to anyone, eat whatever/whenever we want, believe whatever religion we want to or just simply be ourselves? If you read this, there's a chance that you have an average or better lifestyle than the world, considering you have access to a computer and internet. However, there's a great number of population in the world who does not share this appreciation (or lack of) with us. The film " Hotel Rwanda: A True Story" exploits this depressing side of our unbalanced world. Don Cheadle, I think, gave his best performance as an actor and he was nominated for Best Actor: Drama in 2005 Golden Globe awards as well as Best Motion Picture: Drama. A little background: As his country descends into madness, five star hotel manager Paul Rusesabagina (Cheadle) sets out to save his family. But when he sees that the world will not intervene in the massacre of minority Tutsis, he finds the courage to open his hotel to over 1,200 refugees. Now, with a rabid militia at the gates, he has only his wits and words to help keep them alive for how ever long he can. Many people have thought that massive killing of a race was over with Hitler and his Nazis, but we still face this problem. However, you do not have to be a high ranked person to make a difference. Anyone can if they have hope and can hold on it no matter what obstacle we face. To me, this was one of the most inspirational films I've ever seen. It makes you wonder, why do people have to focus in our differences, when we should simply focus in what we have in common? Maybe develop a common ground and prevent history from repeating itself. I hope you can gain a new appreciation of your life after watching this film. TRUPER™
