Taken Impression

On Valentine’s Day, a lady and I watched this film. Initially we wanted to watch Friday 13th, but it was sold out for 3 different times with two screening. Crazy. Heard this film wasn’t bad, not to mention Liam Neeson is a decent actor in action films, so we found a winner. Former government operative Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) begins the longest 96-hours of his life and the hunt for the fearsome organization that has taken his daughter Kim (Maggie Grace). Mills had only recently retired from his government career as what he calls a “preventer” to be near Kim, who lives with Bryan’s ex-wife Lenore and her new husband. Eventually, Kim was given the permission to go to Paris with her best friend Amanda. In an unguarded apartment, both girls were suddenly abducted and that’s when Bryan’s specialty initiated. From his investigation and attempt to rescue his daughter, he was taken to the darkness of Paris’ underworld that consists of any parent’s worst nightmares. It was terrifying that an organization that abducted the ladies can very well exists. Many people with excess money can develop a program like this and execute it efficiently. I assume greed and corruption are the two main ingredients. Besides the abduction and selling the girls like eBay items, they also take them into isolated areas and allow men to come in and out from various rooms with them. Whatever the case, I hope this is a fictional story, however, I highly doubt it. As expected, Liam Neeson basically took out alot of guys within short amount of time. At the end, he took out a whole ship crew one by one within minutes! He was taking them out easier than 007 or Jason Bourne. Crazy. There were shocking scenes from the fight segments along with funny lines. Overall, I think everyone should watch this film. I’m not sure if I’ll buy the DVD but it was worth the ticket price.
