Kevin Smith has made a lot of controversial films that a lot of people won’t get unless you get his sense of humor. At the most, his films seem to be catered to the Generation X crowed or to people who love toilet humor. But under all this are stories that will make you think in life in a whole new way. He seems to touch on issues that most young people can relate too but doing so with his own type of brand film. Of course he has his own comedy troop that seem to be great in his films then others, this movie though takes two well-known comedy troops and combine them together to create a funny and romantic story that you can’t miss.
This film takes a situation that any person can relate too in America. Whenever you feel like you hit rock bottom and seems like all chooses are gone but one last thing does remain, you make a porno. From the name of the film you would think this would be a raunchy film that will showcase naked women after naked women, but it doesn’t. In a weird way I’m happy that Smith and company took a different direction on this film. They could of made a film with raunchy moments after another, but they took the high ground and created a film that’s funny and romantic in a weird Kevin Smith way.
Elizabeth Banks and Seth Rogen does a great job in the film portraying down-on-luck best friends that needed a break to pay all of their bills. They done everything in their power to get money but ended up making a porno instead. People from Judd Apatow camp and Kevin Smith camp makes this film interesting at times. Seeing how both camps come from different styles of comedy the scenes will give you mix feelings. Craig Robinson does a fabulous job carrying the film with Seth Rogen as his friend that helps finance the porno. His performance alone would make you laugh because rarely we see him act as much in other Apatow films. The Star Wars scene will have everyone laughing especially the Nerdcore people.
The film has its moments with the laughs but one unforgettable moment will have the theater gross out. Kevin Smith does a great job in balancing his humor with Seth Rogens improvised style of comedy. I personally think that the romantic story really brings the movie together. It shows how you can find feeling for some one in the last place you would ever look and how friends will always be behind you even at the worst times in life. After watching film makes sure you stay during the credits. You are treated with some “real” porno.

Sub-title cult classic. This movie is the best international film that I ever seen. It has everything that I want in a movie. It’s a modern day horror movie with morals twisted in. Imagine you’re on an island with all of your friends, and the only way you can actually get off, is to kill off all your friends. Well, this movie does that. This movie will keep you watching till' the very end.
Directed by the famous Kinji Fukasaku, this film captures the essence of youth today. The first time I watch this film, I was stunned because it was so gory. Seeing 9th graders killing each other made this film one hell of a ride. Also, this film isn’t an American big budget film. It’s a Japanese film that captures the j-pop culture they have. Looking at Asian school girls/boys using guns and fighting for their life is one of the best parts in the movie. The audience could at least relate to one of the characters in the movie. So gather all your friends and enjoy this movie at your next kickback. The only bad thing is, this is a hard movie to find. So keep your eyes open, this movie might past you by.

Watching films on opening day is always exciting. You get a huge crowed so the atmosphere will always be good. Went to this movie with my girlfriend Audrey and we sat at a spot that we can see the whole screen without any uncomfortable angles. Of course this is a family film so there were any kids sitting around us. Whenever you watch a film like this you are face with some kids acting up and you can’t really do anything about it but ignoring before they annoy you. Thankfully everyone was calm through out the movie; maybe one kid was crying, but other then that the movie experience was great.
Wall-E of course is from the great animation company Pixar. All of their films I love and personally adore, so going into this film its hard not to have high expectations. I really tried to, like all the films I see, not to have any expectations at all.
I don’t like giving spoilers or anything in that nature. What you see in commercials isn’t what you think this film is all about; it’s so much MORE. When I see a Wall-E commercial now, I look at the film at a whole different way. I just don’t see a little robot that looks like a smaller version of Johnny Five, but I see film that will speak to you on so many levels. This film has so many layers of social commentary that it’s hard to say what this film is truly about. It will have the younger viewers laughing at Wall-E clumsy ways and the more matured audience should see how this film speaks to us through Wall-E heroic actions. The way Pixar handled this film cinematography is great. They made it seem like some scenes were shot with a handy cam that at times seem unfocused. It gives the movie more a realism effect. They also add live actors into the film that made the film more personal to the audience.
Overall the movie is a great triumph in story telling and animation. Most of the environments really look real and the story might make you relies what we must do to keep our future from becoming WALL-E future.

I watch this movie with my lovely girlfriend Audrey, My twin brother Ben and his girlfriend Bernadette, and my good friend Austin that came all the way down from San Diego. We watch the afternoon showing of this movie and the theater wasn’t even pack. Not a surprise at all because people still had Ang Lee’s movie in mind. I’m the few that actually enjoyed Lee’s version of the Hulk. Not for the story, but it came across as a Living breathing comic book. I enjoyed Lee’s version but not as much as I enjoyed Louis Leterrier version. Like Iron Man I don’t know much about the Hulk. Just getting into his story by reading graphic novels that my friends lend to me. He has an interesting and complex story. It’s one Marvel character that I would love to know more about in coming years. Hopefully there is a sequel to come.
It isn’t an origin story like the 2003 movie was. It’s more of a continuing of the story with some twist. Like Batman Begin did to the Batman series, The Incredible Hulk requel the franchise with great actors and a better story. The movie delivers more with the story. The film successfully adds a depth of realism to the Hulk story.
Edward Norton (Bruce Banner) does a good job adding tension between him and William Hurt (General Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross). Right away you know that Gen. Ross is mad at Bruce for what he did to his daughter and will do everything in his power to capture Mr. Banner. The movie is always in motion and never really slow down with the action. There are a few scenes in the film that will make you laugh if you know what they are referencing.
The chemistry between Edward Norton and Liv Tyler chracter Betty Ross is much more believable then Lee’s version. The only problem I had with Liv Tyler in the movie was that she spoke so quietly. She sounded like a little girl whenever she talks to Bruce. But there is a scene was she actually shows a side of Betty we don’t see. It’s a funny scene and shows how much Bruce and Betty really have in common.
Tim Roth (Emil Blonsky) does an okay job as the films “Bad Guy”. The only real problem is that he suddenly becomes bad. I know the film doesn’t show a real background story for this character, but we do know he is one of the best military solider in the world. His reason to all of sudden become power hunger might come from him being the best in the world overall. But still, it fills very force just so The Hulk will have this huge Battle at the end of the film.
The scenes that I love in the film are the reference they have to other Marvel Superheroes. You can hear at least one major Marvel Superhero reference in the film that will have wondering how his story is connected to all this and another actually has a guest appearance near the ending of the film. After seeing these reference it will make so happy that marvel is actually creating a universe with their heroes.
Overall the film was great. Very entertaining and it will have you leaving the movie theater wanting more. The great cameos from another Superhero will have your hopes up for maybe a team up in the distant future. With some good CGI the film brings the Hulk to life a second time, but this time with a better crew at hand.
The theater was almost empty when we watch this film. Audrey and I took a Thursday off to watch the midnight showing at our local theater. I thought a lot of older people who actually remember the cartoon will attend, but surprising the demographic of the theater was young people in there 20’s. I personally never watch a Speed Racer episode but I do know the characters from watching shows like Family Guy and Robot Chicken referencing him. Maybe one of the biggest reason I really enjoyed this film because I had no prior knowledge of the story of this legendary racer. So going into this movie the only thing I was expecting was a lot of racing.
The narrative of this film was great. The first 10 minutes really pulls you in with a quick history lesson of most of the characters in the film. The Wachowski Brothers does a great job showing us the young Speed Racer and how his mind works as a Kid and influence around him. The film is full with vibrating neo colors that anybody would love especially kids. While you watch the film you have to just let your imagination go and let the Wachowski show you a living and breathing cartoon. The artistic level is one of the best I seen in years. It’s very original and surpasses films like Spy Kids series and Lava Girl and Shark girl movies that tried to become what Speed Racer is, a awesome kid and adult movie. The Wachowski Brothers retelling of an old story is so compelling that it shows why the Matrix and V for Vendetta were so popular. They know how to get the audience react to certain scenes that it plays out by you cheering for the hero through out the film and never stop believing in him even if the situation is not in his favor.
The races are one of the best I seen ever-in movies and will leave you breathless. This film has intense and wonderful hyper-realism races that will have you cheering for Speed and at times fill sorry for him when he loses. I have no idea if the Series has a true story line with the characters and there races but this film has a story that makes sense and makes you really involved with the characters and their struggle in life misfortune.
Emile Hirsch does a great job being our fearless Racer and rest of the characters will pull you into the story so well that you forget that you are watching John Goodman, Christina Ricci, Susan Sarandon, and Matthew Fox acting as our #1 racing family.
Overall the movie is awesome. This film is just pure eye candy visually and the story will have the whole family laughing and cheering for Speed till the ending credits. I can end my Impression with a lame attempt to say “Go” see the film, but I just want everyone to go out and take your family and enjoy this wondful film that will teach you that its not the end of the journey that is important but the journey we take to the end.
